Things to do
Surfing
The east coast has the warmest weather in Tasmania and with a doubt has some of the best beaches in the world. There is a large selection of waves for surfers of all levels. The water is crystal clear and guaranteed uncrowded, which is something the northen states can only wish for. The temperature on the beach gets quite hot in the summer months in spite of the reputation that Tassie is a cooler place. You will need a steamer though, as the water temperature is cool compared to the north island.
